MATERNAL HEALTH CASE (NAKASEKE CASE) HEARING ON MONDAY 7TH AT 9AM-UGANDA

The maternal health case that CEHURD instituted against Nakaseke District
local government (Civil suit No.111 of 2012) will be coming up for
hearing on the 7th of October 2013 at the High Court of Uganda at Twed
Plaza before his Lordship Justice Benjamin Kabiito.

Remember that the case seeks declarations that the factors that led to
the death of Nanteza Irene at Nakaseke Hospital were a violation of
her rights to health, life, and the rights of her children and the
family.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has put in place measures to manage Ebola in case it appears in the country.  This done with the help a nd support from Development Partners. The Government of Uganda, determines whether an event constitutes a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC). It set up the National Ebola Preparedness and Response Contingency Plan, which combats the spread should there be a case. It has also put the health workers in various facilities on high alert to be watchful of various patients taken ill. These are called Ebola Treatment Units (ETU).
