• Taking "treatment" to mean both the structural and human-related
mechanisms in the sequence of events from when the service provider
meets the service beneficiary (or vice-versa). That entailed my
definition of treatment outcome. Let us not forget that the "pill" is
just part and parcel of treatment, "psyche" plays a major role too.

• Patient experience carries a heavy weight in all aspects of health
care however the patients outcomes should always be the true measure of
our success. Healing the sick is the ultimate mission of healthcare with
comforting families and patients a very close second. If you do these
well all the other metrics will follow.

• For me, the treatment outcome is largely based on the opportunity I
have to impact my own care. When patient experience work targets
developing a culture where patients & families are calm, confidant
and comfortable to engage in their own care, providers will have better
information and a strong partnership for delivering care, resulting in
better outcomes.

• I believe that the overall patient experience weighs more mainly
because there may not always be a positive outcome, but there may be a
positive experience.
What if someone has an illness that cannot be cured?, yet share that
they had a positive experience? In order for there to be an outcome
there must be a final result, the journey to that result may have been
amazing but the result not so much.

• the challange that the health care industry will face in the near
future, is the ability to keep the face of the provider close to the
heart of the patient. No matter what transpires with the ACA, once it
removes this relationship, then you can use all of the other "
stratregic measurements" on how we will be doing, which will be in the
wrong direction and not capable to be fixed. But we will have a series
of non provider "experts" find additional way to measure, analysis and
extend "Analysis Paralysis" to the next level. Then maybe we can return
to the basics of provider/patient relationship.

• The data is consistent with my own view, though the nearly 3 to 1
difference between outcomes and experience is somewhat surprizing
because the patient experience fundamentally contributes to the
treatment outcomes.
The demographic data presented here is interesting as well. Twice as
many males responded. Conventional wisdom, and market data, suggest
that women make the majority of health care decisions. I'd like to see
if the numbers change as more women participate in the survey.

• Patient experience because this includes all the other choices:
Physicians, Outcome Treatment, Rankings, etc. If the patient is
satisfied with their overall experience they will be impacted with the
hospital itself allowing future referrals.

• Treatment Outcomes and quality reflect the entity as a whole. At the
end of the day outcomes can either retain and attract patients or steer
others to seek other options. I agree with Cheryl J. that positive
outcomes create a patient experience and patient loyalty.

• Treatment Outcomes, as a former patient at the Cleveland Clinic this
was, of course most important to me. The service was excellent, although
some staff seemed to be overworked.
The outcome was beyond expectations. I would recommend anyone to
Cleveland Clinic.
