Enduring Peace Quotes, Gestures and Images From The CEO MARPS IN UGANDA

We asked our Founder and CEO to share some of his enduring peace gestures and images. Look at what choices we were given. Both in writing and in picture.  We do not want to caption anything lest it does not make it a surprise.

Some sources like the Webster dictionary, Cambridge and Oxford dictionaries define peace variously:

1. state of tranquility or quiet
2. freedom from civil disturbance
3. state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom
4.the normal, non-warring condition of a nation, group of nations, or the world.
5. (often initial capital letter) an agreement or treaty between warring or antagonistic nations, groups, etc., to end hostilities and abstain from further fighting or antagonism
6. a state of mutual harmony between people or groups, especially in personal relations

The CEO shared other sources and pointed out a link to consult at peace:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.”

“You cannot find peace by avoiding life.”

“An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.”

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”

“Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”

“Peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without.”

“You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on having both at once.”
― Robert A. Heinlein

We were introduced to Biblical quotes too:

"You will seek Me and find Me, WHEN YOU SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART ... For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, THOUGHTS OF PEACE and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:13,11)

"love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." (Injil, Matthew 5:44 NKJV)

From the Koran the CEO chose one word but shared this link 10-great-non-muslim-quotes-on-islam:

Salaam.

All in all, we hope this will give our readers two or three aspects about peace. The first is that we need to avail ourselves with balanced write ups on peace, secondly we need to be ready to face the meaning of peace, thirdly we must be ready to do something to keep peace.

Remember Peace is the concept of harmony and the absence of hostility. In a behavioral sense, peace is a lack of conflict and freedom from fear of violence between individuals and heterogeneous social groups. For more read: visionofhumanity.org
