Dear Hon. Minister of Ethics Simon Lokodo, use the key to reverse HIV, do not throw it away instead

Do not stop the conference. Let us look at the non heterosexual conforming persons as a key to unlocking the secrets to why HIV is still a menace.  In stopping the conference/s you are instead throwing away a vital key to ending the ravages of AIDS.

Thank you for the good work you do. You are a beacon directing many and indeed Uganda is lucky to have a person of your stature.

I am writing to disagree with the tone, spirit and intention following the statements made by you which are accessible in the Ugandan dailies.

You are a face and mouth of the Uganda Government/State and on matters of non-heterosexual normativity or those who do not conform to a male/female gender it is clear who to approach and where there is need to drive enduring and inclusive conversations.

My humble question is how we can reach a common ground on the human nature of those we think do not conform to a male/female heterosexual normativity? How find alternatives to retributive decisions which affect the way they operationalize their own dignity or seek to engage in self care? The non heterosexual conforming persons once mobilized can act as a collective key to unlocking reasons why AIDS is still a menace.

According to the Ugandan Daily Monitor, it is claimed you said:

“My duty is to stop anything that will position the moral fabric of Ugandans. I realized that there was something dirty when I saw leaders of the conference like Nicholas Opiyo of [the human rights-focused] organization known as Chapter 4 and Frank Mugisha of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG),” Mr Lokodo said, adding that the two are people of high declared position in support of homosexuality.”
Please do not stop the conference. Let us look at the non heterosexual conforming persons as a key to unlocking so much we do not know about human nature.

Respectfully thank you for giving me this minute.
