   Stop TB Partnership Statement On World AIDS Day - 2023 We Are Empowering TB Communities To Lead The Stop TB Partnership stands in solidarity with the families and friends of those who lost their lives to HIV-AIDS and TB-HIV co-infection and the communities and networks of people living with HIV and leading the response. 30 November 2023, Geneva, Switzerland - On this World AIDS Day we add our voice in calling for Communities to lead the responses at national and regional levels to end TB, HIV and Malaria as well as other diseases. TB is one of the leading causes of death in people living with HIV. As per the latest 2022 WHO data, 671,000 people living with HIV fell ill with TB, with the highest burden in countries in the WHO African Region, and TB caused 167,000 deaths in people living with HIV. Trans Health Competency In Uganda: Promoting HIV Services' Uptake Targeting Transgender (TG), Gender-non conforming (GNC), Women-who-have-sex-with-women (WSW) and Men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM) 2018-2023

Knowledge hubs led and run by  Trans, Gender-non conforming, Women-who-have-sex-with-women (WSW) and Men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM)  increase their participation in mobilization drives that in turn make their communities attend HIV/TB/Malaria/Hepatitis Service spaces. We conducted 10 Medical Camps where we have tested 10,000 people for TB and 3,000 had Positive TB diagnosis and were linked to care; we have established 50 TB Prevention Walk-in Days (10 per year X 5 years) and reached 900 health seekers out of which 270 had a Positive TB diagnosis. Our findings show a slightly higher reading than the national incidence rate of 200 per 100,000 population with a mortality rate of 35 per 100,000.  There are predictors of TB, HIV and STI among the marginalized. There is need to  generate strategic plans that lead to developing gender tailored and focused TB, HIV and STI prevention interventions among Key and Vulnerable Populations.  Trans-Health Competency is needed ...
